Hippo Jigsaw

Hippo Jigsaw is a puzzle collection starring cartoon hippos. Rather than realistic river animals, the pictures show friendly hippo characters, which gives the game a lighter, more playful look than a wildlife photo set.

Two choices set up each puzzle. First you click your favourite hippo image from the selection. Then you decide how many pieces you want to play with. That second choice is what makes the game flexible, because the same picture can be a quick, easy puzzle for a young child or a longer task for someone with more patience.

Real hippopotamuses are among the largest land animals in Africa and spend much of the day in water to keep cool, but these cartoon versions are all rounded shapes and bright colours. Those simple, bold forms are well suited to jigsaws for beginners, since big blocks of colour help children see where pieces should go. It is a cheerful, uncomplicated puzzle game with a slightly unusual animal at its centre.

1. Click the hippo picture you like best.
2. Choose how many pieces you want.
3. Drag the pieces into their correct places.
4. Finish the image, then try another hippo.

Use the hippo's large body colour as a guide. Pieces of that shade almost always belong in the middle of the picture.
