Funny Cats Puzzle

Funny Cats Puzzle is a jigsaw collection with a sense of humour about its subject. Every one of the six pictures features cats caught being comical, and the comedy is useful: a cat doing something odd tends to have a clear shape and a distinctive pose, which gives you landmarks while you build.

Each image comes in four sizes — 16, 36, 64 and 100 pieces. That spread covers a child’s first jigsaw and a proper adult challenge with the same picture. The jump from 64 to 100 is the big one, because the pieces get small enough that fur texture starts to look the same everywhere.

The studio frames it as a way to keep your brain sharp, and a jigsaw does exercise pattern recognition and patience. Because six pictures times four modes gives twenty-four distinct boards, there is room to start small, learn the images and then come back to the largest version once you know where everything belongs.

1. Pick a funny cat picture from the six on offer.
2. Choose 16, 36, 64 or 100 pieces.
3. Drag pieces onto the board, starting with the cat's face and outline.
4. Fill in the background to finish the picture.

Play each picture at 16 pieces first. Once you know the image, the 100-piece version becomes a test of memory as well as sorting.
