What do animals eat

What do animals eat is a small learning game from Nau.kids that answers its own question. It invites children to discover what animals eat in a fun way, from a phone, a tablet or a computer.

Diet is one of the clearest ways to understand how animals differ. Some are herbivores that eat only plants, like rabbits nibbling grass or cows grazing in a field. Others are carnivores, such as lions and owls, that hunt other animals for food. Many, including bears and chickens, are omnivores that eat both. Even familiar pets fit the pattern: a cat needs meat, while a hamster happily munches seeds and vegetables. Learning these links teaches children that what an animal eats shapes how it lives, from the teeth it has to the places it is found.

Because the game’s description is brief, it is best treated as a friendly introduction for young children. An adult can easily extend it by asking about the meals of the animals a child already knows.

1. Open the game on a phone, tablet or computer.
2. Meet the animals the game shows.
3. Discover what each animal eats.
4. Talk about the answers and play again.

After playing, ask your child what their own pet or a farm animal eats. Linking the game to real animals helps the facts stay put.
