The road-crossing endless format, set in winter. Traffic runs in lanes at different speeds, rivers require timing rather than nerve, and the two alternate often enough that neither becomes routine.
What makes the river sections work is that lily pads move. On the road, standing still is safe; on the water it is not, so the two halves ask for opposite instincts and switching between them is where runs end.
