Growing Fish

A protection game rather than a growth one, despite the name. Predatory fish have started eating the others, and your job is to move the vulnerable ones out of the way before they are reached.

Co-operative play is what makes it worth opening. Up to three players share the lake, and because the threat comes from several directions at once, splitting the water between you produces a genuinely different game from playing alone.

Rounds are short and restart quickly, which suits a set built around a busy screen.

1. Watch which predator is closest to a weak fish.
2. Drag the vulnerable one out of the path.
3. Split the lake between players if you are not alone.
4. Keep the population alive as the pressure rises.

With two or three players, agree who takes which half of the water before starting. Overlapping coverage is worse than a gap, because both of you leave the same fish to the other.
